Shows and Education at the George Street Playhouse

A Rutgers University graduate, Steven M. Darien earned a degree in economics and served as president of the Alpha Epsilon Phi fraternity. Since 1996, Steven M. Darien has served as the chairman and chief executive officer of the consulting firm The Cabot Advisory Group, LLC. Outside of work, he serves as chairman of the George Street Playhouse board.

Established in 1974, the George Street Playhouse has featured a number of award-winning plays and musicals, including Proof, The Spitfire Grill, and The Toxic Avenger. Funded through the National Endowment for the Arts and the New Jersey State Council, the New Brunswick-based theatre is dedicated to producing top quality at its mainstage location and during its touring shows.
To reach out to its community, the George Street Playhouse hosts a variety of educational classes and workshops in schools and the theatre itself. In-theatre classes welcome students with and without previous experience and include classes for adults, children, and teens. At local schools, the Playhouse guides students through creative, collaborative expression designed to link to the school’s curriculum.
